AI Suggestions

Questions about budgets

Can I actually create a budget here?
Yes. Create Budget, editing an existing one, deleting one and applying an AI suggestion all work in this demo - they update the sample data in your browser. Nothing is saved to an account, so refreshing restores the original set.
How does Expenssly suggest a budget?
It looks at what you have actually spent in that category over recent months and proposes a target in that range rather than an arbitrary round number. You see the suggestion and its reasoning before it is applied, so the AI proposes and you decide.
Can one budget cover several categories?
Yes. A multi-category budget covers a chosen set under a single ceiling, and can be defined as an include list or as everything except a chosen few. There is also a global budget type covering every category at once. Open Create Budget to see all three.
Do budgets reset every month?
Yes, they are monthly targets and each calendar month starts fresh, so an expensive January does not follow you into February. Budgets can optionally roll unspent amounts forward instead.
What happens when I go over budget?
The progress bar turns amber from 80 percent of the target and red once past it, so there is still time in the month to react. Over-budget categories are also surfaced on the dashboard rather than buried in a settings screen.
Can I see which purchases used up a budget?
Yes. Clicking a budget opens the expense list already filtered to exactly the transactions counting against it, using the same category-matching rules the budget itself uses, so the number and the list can never disagree.
